LM Projects will be exhibiting Rebeca Méndez in Cinema Loop at the ARCO Art Fair. Méndez's single channel video, "At Any Given Moment, Rivers and Fall," has been selected for ARCO by Los Angeles based curator and critic Paul Young.


Filmed in Iceland between 2006-08 with a Bolex H16 Reflex 16mm film camera, this video work explores issues of perception, specifically our relationship to technologically mediated nature. The repetitive rhythm, tight cropping, and large-scale image emphasize the work’s particular organizational logic in time and space.

Rebeca Méndez received her MFA from Art Center College of Design and is professor at UCLA in the Design Media Arts Department. She has exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA, National Design Museum, NY, the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Pompidou Centre, Paris and the XBienal de Cuenca, Ecuador. Méndez lectures internationally and has been reviewed in the Los Angeles Times, Eye Magazine, Metropolis I.D. amongst others. She lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
